Aaahh!!! Real Killers
B. Lee's thoughts on Christopher Nolan's 'Memento' and how it challenges the viewer, plus tonight's cinema club viewing 'The Killers' (1946)
The Other day, B. Lee watched Christopher Nolan’s ‘Memento’ as selected by Alisha Mughal for this month’s cinema club. Their full thoughts can be found here, but here is a quick blurb:
An ending that makes you want to rewind back to the beginning.
This was my first time watching what many consider to be Christopher Nolan's most notable work if not his best. Of course, Nolan's most distinguishable components of his work, which can be considered "meme" worthy based on how many of his films you have watched are found here: dead wife, obsession over time, and the main character styled like the director himself. But like Nolan's filmography, there is more at work here.
Tonight’s watch is another noir selected by Alisha Mughal, Robert Siodmak’s ‘The Killers. Like always, feel free to comment with your thoughts and visit our Letterboxd/Twitter for more thoughts. Cheers!
